+ Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Sarton Physical Therapy was truly a lifesaver for me!
I was suffering with loss of sensation, lack of bladder control, and other pelvic issues
Sarton understands the emotional toll pelvic pain has on their patients and family members.
+ Pudendal Neuropathy/Neuralgia
More than 10 hours driving with no pain symptoms at all.
Five years ago I had a rare bladder infection that left me with tissue damage, inflammation, tightness, and scarring in my pelvis resulting in Pudendal Nerve (PN) pain and sitting problems.
If you don't live in California or the United States, you'll want to read this.
My problems started in the third trimester of my pregnancy (October 2018). Everything started with vaginal burning which I thought was bacterial infection.
I miss you and think of Tustin, Sarton and shopping almost every day. I still watch weather forecast in Tustin like I’m there. How silly is that, ha?
I have gone to Sarton Physical therapy for a year and a half for chronic pelvic pain including coccydynia (tailbone pain) pudendal neuralgia.
I have sat down to write this letter many a times...
My journey with pudenal neuralgia began when...
In the months preceding my pudendal neuralgia...
I was...able to have children, which doctors had said was not possible.
+ Pregnancy & Postpartum
All I kept asking myself every single day was: "Why me God?
As a new mom who just gave birth to her first baby and should be experiencing the happiest moments in her life, I was dealing with the most excruciating pain 24/7. I was depressed, sad and felt hopeless because I didn't understand what was going on. All I kept asking myself every single day was: "Why me God?" I couldn't eat, sleep, sit or take care of my newborn. This burning pain took over my life as well as my vagina, rectum, inner thighs, sacrum and legs. Luckily I came across Sarton Physical Therapy and met two amazing women: Dr. Allea Francis and Julie Carter Sarton.
They taught me to believe that healing is possible and to embrace my body no matter what because it will pay me back. Today, three months after returning back home from the States, I realized they were right. Although I'm still not completely pain free, I'm really close to achieving that goal and the most important thing—I have my life back again. I can sit, sleep, drive my car and enjoy the role of a mom, wife, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt, godmother, maid of honour and a friend. I've remembered how it feels to laugh again and I've learnt that health shouldn't be taken for granted because when it comes to that, you are and should be the most important to yourself—and everything is about you. If you'll ever have pelvic floor or similar issues, you need to know that you're not alone and that help exists—it's called Sarton and it's always here for you.

Sarton Physical Therapy has been the best experience I could have ever asked for postpartum.
With 3rd degree tearing, scar tissue, pelvic pain and some prolapse after baby, Sarton brought me back to life. I have been going here for 6 months seeing Becky Paulson and Julie Sarton. Their passion and knowledge of the pelvic floor is unmatched in a boutique spa like experience. During the hour long sessions they provided me with relief, healing, hope and encouragement. They will even work with your OB to make sure you are receiving the best treatment possible to reach your physical/emotional goals during recovery. I am forever grateful to Sarton and would highly recommend coming to them either postpartum or during pregnancy.

Julie changed my life. Plain and simple.
After being in traditional PT for six months with No change to my pain AND after seeing another pelvic PT whose web ratings were better than their actual care for their patients, I came to Sarton PT. Julie’s compassion and years of expertise are bar none. She took me from living a level 9 pain for over a year, to functioning with my family again!! Julie and her staff are incredible. Wish there were 20 stars to rate how awesome they are!

LOVED EVERY MINUTE AS SOON AS I WALKED IN!
I am so happy I finally saw a PFPT. 2 kids in less than 18 months did a lot on my body and while I don’t have many glaring symptoms it was good to go in and LEARN about my body and how to use it to the best of my ability as I recover. Karen was also the sweetest! Sherine was so helpful in getting me to understand and helped me visualize what i needed. It may sound odd, but I’m excited to go back!
After giving birth for the second time I was dealing with some unpleasant side effects mostly due to weakness in my core.
I went to see Julie, who was immensely helpful in teaching me the correct ways to recover. She taught me strengthening exercises, about the importance of balancing both sides of the body, and was a wealth of information on how the body works. She always said she would teach me "to be your own therapist" and I think I'm doing better at managing my much improved symptoms on my own. My visits with her were a ray of light in what was a dark time of recovery for me. She told me I would continue to get better, and I have been when before I didn't understand what was going on with my body. If you've visited physical therapists who don't seem effective in addressing your postpartum issues then you should really do yourself a favor and visit this clinic. I have absolutely no regrets about the time and money that I have invested here.

If it wasn't for Sarton, I would still be in pain.
I came here after the birth of my second child because I was experiencing constant back and pelvic pain. It was affecting my mood and my ability to care for my kids. Julie Sarton is great at diagnosing your condition and is just a wealth of knowledge. Every time I meet her, I feel like I am getting a crash course on human anatomy and body mechanics. I hope she writes a book one day.
I have seen almost all the therapists at Sarton, and I can honestly say that each one is fantastic. They have worked on my weak core, my tight pelvis, and have given me tools and exercises to "be my own therapist". Lisa, the pilates instructor, really knows her stuff and I look forward to seeing her. She is kind and doesn't judge my wobbly body, and makes each workout interesting.
I always feel like I'm walking a little taller & straighter after seeing Bobby, the massage therapist. Lynn and Angelica, the staff at the front desk, are so patient in scheduling appointments. I feel very lucky to live in OC and have access to Sarton. Being pain-free is such a blessing.

As I was 23 weeks pregnant at that time, I needed help in strengthening my core to prepare for baby's growth (and increased back pain as a result!)
I had the pleasure of working with Lisa, who is the Pilates instructor at Sarton. As I was 23 weeks pregnant at that time, I needed help in strengthening my core to prepare for baby's growth (and increased back pain as a result!) as well as help with better blood flow to minimize swelling. Lisa really took the time to understand my unique needs and situation, and created a customized program for me. I have worked with personal trainers before that I felt were merely trying to kill time during our sessions. Lisa, on the other hand, provided me with as much information as possible during our time together, so I never felt like my money and time were wasted.
Unfortunately, I only got to work with Lisa three times as I was temporarily visiting California from out of state. (My sister, who is a Sarton patient, recommended working with Lisa during my visit). But I felt I had enough information and hands on exercise tips to continue working out on my own throughout my pregnancy.
Thank you, Lisa, for your caring and beneficial sessions!

Julie & Co changed my life.
I had been dealing with postnatal pain and discomfort for 2 yrs; I was unable to workout without pain. (Not even yoga or pilates). When another PT referred me to Sarton for specialized PT, I thought "I have nothing to lose". It was the BEST thing I could have done for my body. Treatment took 8 months, but i am now back to my old workout schedule (5 days/week), no pelvic floor or incontinence issues! It is awesome to feel like myself again. And because they have taught me to self-treat, I can take care it if myself. Thank you Sarton!

So excited my midwife recommended I come here for physical therapy!
I finally feel like there is some hope for my core strength (or lack thereof after having my babies Jan '14 & Sept '15). She's super knowledgeable and really understands all the changes that take place during and after pregnancy and labor. I only wish I had found her sooner to start the rehab process of my super stretched abdominal muscles, and that I had known to see her during pregnancy to strengthen but also learn to relax my pelvic floor during labor. Anything that could have helped me have an easier shorter less traumatic labor would have been worth its weight in gold. I recommend any mamas to be or recovering mamas to see her right away , I'm sure there's some aspect she can help every woman with. Looking forward to regaining some strength and to my next appointment.

I cannot speak highly enough of Jojo.
If you are on the fence, just book an appointment, you won't be disappointed. I had an AMAZING experience with Jojo. I came in for C-section scar mobilization (healing the scar area and making sure scar tissue didn't form). I started 8 weeks pp but they said I could have started even sooner. I also wanted to prevent a keloid scar from forming since this happened during my first C-section. We were able to a accomplish all of this over the course of a few months.
Jojo not only heals physically but also heals with her words. She taught me more about my body than any doctor has. She believes in a whole approach to healing, so during our sessions I would learn how to breathe in a way that my nervous system could heal my own body.
I cannot speak highly enough of Jojo. I looked forward to our sessions and generally feel like I'm leaving PT with more self-confidence and self-love than when I had started. Thanks to her my scar looks very minimal, smooth, and I can focus on strength and fitness now. Very happy with the care here!

+ Painful Intercourse
I just want to thank you.
Julie Sarton has made my experience with PT the best one I have ever had.
My sessions with you have healed me on several levels.
When I first started coming to Sarton for pelvic floor physical therapy, I could hardly use the restroom without a burning sensation and not being able to fully empty my bladder.
+ Endometriosis
Finding this place is like finding the hidden treasure.
I have spent the past decade+ dealing with endometriosis, multiple surgeries, and constant pain.
It took about 17 years for me to find the excellent care I needed.
After being diagnosed at the age of 8 with IBS I have lived in pain for 20 years.

+ Low Back/Hip Pain
You are a wizard.
If you are searching for an excellent and caring pelvic floor physical therapy clinic with the most supportive pelvic floor specialists possible, I ABSOLUTELY URGE YOU TO GO TO SARTON PT!
I’ve had lower back, hip, SI joint and pelvic pain for most of my adult life, but it didn’t become debilitating until about 4 years ago.
I cannot even begin to express how amazing Sarton PT is.
I found Sarton PT after a random landscaping injury had thrown my pelvis (and a lot of other skeletal and muscular bits) out of whack...
+ Coccyx/Tailbone Pain
I have gone to Sarton Physical therapy for a year and a half for chronic pelvic pain including coccydynia (tailbone pain) pudendal neuralgia.
As a male having any pelvic floor ailment one soon finds out that pelvic floor physical therapy specialists for men are exceedingly difficult to come by especially with the high magnitude of experience that Julie Sarton and her team have at Sarton Physical Therapy!
I was reluctant when my Urologist insisted I try Sarton PT for my coccyx/sitting pain because I had a horrible experience with pelvic floor PT in the past...
+ Post Surgical Pelvic Pain
Thank you so much for sharing and for being such an important piece of my healing journey! I have learned so much from you!
I cannot thank Julie and her team enough for giving me my life back!
During the darkest times, there was no hope.

This burning pain took over my life as well as my vagina, rectum, inner thighs, sacrum and legs. Luckily I came across Sarton Physical Therapy and met two amazing women: Dr. Allea Francis and Julie Carter Sarton.”
“To all of you that are in pain or suffer in silence, please know you’re not alone. It can and will stop but you need to find help (if you can’t do it in your country, try to find it elsewhere like I did).”
“After being in traditional PT for six months with no change to my pain AND after seeing another pelvic PT whose web ratings were better than their actual care for their patients, I came to Sarton PT. “I have found my Physical Therapist who helps relieve my pain, my psychologist, my cheerleader, my educator, ears that listen, a shoulder to cry on, a friend and family.”
“As a physician practicing emergency medicine, I know what it is to save a life and I can say without exaggeration that Julie saved mine. I am forever grateful.”
“As a male having any pelvic floor ailment, one soon finds out that pelvic floor physical therapy specialists for men are exceedingly difficult to come by, especially with the high magnitude of experience that Julie Sarton and her team have at Sarton Physical Therapy!”
“After searching for help, with a desire to avoid any further surgeries. I know I am so close to achieving my goal...they HEAR YOU. I have received the very best care with outstanding results.”
“It is healing from the core, the center of the body literally the inside to the out. Their training is rigorous and highly specialized - this is a calling of passion. Under Julie Sarton’s direction, the goal is permanent life changing healing from those in severe pain to those undergoing natural life cycles like pregnancy and childbirth.”
“I was expecting the facility to be cold, uninviting and clinical like the many doctor offices I had been in over the last two years, but it was welcoming, comfortable and I kid you not, spa like. ”
“I have (been) dealing with pelvic pain/issues after a hysterectomy 10 years ago. I regret that I did not set up appointments sooner...I will be back in the fall to work with Julie and Lisa, the Pilates Instructor, and do Guided Imagery. ”
“Pelvic floor dysfunction is real. It presents a wide range of very painful and very distressing symptoms. With your cooperation and willing involvement, Julie can give you your health and your health body back just like she gave me mine! I call Julie my angel!”
“I miss you and think of Tustin, Sarton and shopping almost every day. I still watch weather forecast in Tustin like I’m there. How silly is that, ha?”
“Living in constant, debilitating pain was not an option for me. I am so grateful that my journey led me to you and Sarton PT.”
“Peaceful, organized, clean office that feels more like a spa than a doctor’s office. Julie Sarton’s smile is contagious and her therapists’ depth of care for the whole person sets the staff apart. You’ll receive outstanding PT exercise tips and nutritional advice. I came in with longstanding, chronic pain and now am free of this, on no medication and able to live and abundant life.”
“I am happy, joyful, and very thankful for her healing hands and the work that Sarton Physical Therapy does.”
“I have learned to appreciate the complexity of the pelvic muscle structure. I am living much better than I had been and I hope the family physician and urologist community learn to understand the real causes for many of these cases.”
“After just 4 sessions, I feel 90% better. I will not even try to go back to my HMO.”
“The medical billing specialist, Donna, also goes above and beyond for every patient. My insurance had already denied my claim through a request from my primary care physician. I had no hope that the insurance would cover any treatment for me. Donna spent half an hour on the phone with my insurance company explaining the unique nature of Sarton Physical Therapy and to my shock, got 30 visits covered thus far. I would not have been able to continue treatment without Donna’s outstanding effort!”

“I can’t recommend this place enough. The treatment is top notch, and everyone is warm and helpful. The physical therapists here are incredibly knowledgeable and have been able to explain medical terms to me in a way I understand. Don’t be apprehensive... just make an appointment as quick as you can!”
“Julie Sarton and her team put my life back on track. I trust Sarton Physical Therapy with my health needs like no others”
“Getting treated by Julie Sarton is worth the trips I am making to California every few months.”
“I am so grateful for Julie bridging the gap between patients in pain and doctors who are under-educated in the area of pelvic floor dysfunction. Sarton Physical Therapy treats the WHOLE person for pelvic floor dysfunction.
Among the modalities: pelvic floor therapy, laser therapy, Pilates, massage therapy. I have received educational tools: stretching instructions, book suggestions and connection with a therapist to help “unpack the mind”. This is a great place to heal!”
“Not only are they the absolute BEST in their field, but they never hesitate to help you heal in every and any possible way. Pelvic Pain is often very hard to address and talk about but the amazing therapists at Sarton PT make healing possible. I cannot recommend them highly enough. EXTRAORDINARY team where everyone REALLY cares.”
“Life changing.”
“This remarkable team of physical therapists help both men and women who are suffering from pelvic floor pain. I was fortunate to have been treated by Dr. Sarton some years ago. She improved my quality of life and did so with compassion, good humor, dedication and skill.”
